Position: Executive Director
The Alabama Shakespeare Festival (ASF), Alabama's Award-winning State Theatre, has initiated a search for its future Executive Director. ASF's board intends to name the successful candidate by late fall 2017 with full-time employment to commence in January of 2018.
ASF was founded in 1972. Located in Montgomery - Alabama's state capital - its is a fully professional LORT theatre and the largest producing theatre in Alabama. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to Broadway style musicals and plays, ASF annually programs up to 10 productions on its two stages, in addition a number of educational programs throughout the community.
ASF will offer its future Executive Director the opportunity to work in concert with its recently named new Artistic Director, Rick Dildine and a committed board and staff in leading Alabama's State Theatre to its next level of success and service.
The Search Committee is focused on identifying an accomplished administrative leader whose organizational leadership skills have been in evidence over a significant period of time. The Executive Director, in partnership with the Artistic Director, will be one of two executive leaders, reporting to the Board of Trustees who will work in concert with the board to plan and implement ASF’s vision for the future.
